Our Story
G. Economides & Co Ltd was founded in 1986 by George Economides, following an accomplished career in both the United Kingdom and Cyprus. George began his professional journey in London with Gane, Jackson & Walton, a firm of Chartered Accountants, where he gained extensive audit and accounting experience while studying for his professional qualifications. In September 1980, he achieved the rare distinction of qualifying simultaneously as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and as a Certified Accountant (ACCA).

He returned to Cyprus shortly after and joined Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte) in Limassol from 1980 to 1982. In 1982, he co-founded Constantinou & Economides Audit Firm and simultaneously served as a consultant to several companies in the hospitality industry. In 1986, the partnership was dissolved, and George established his own independent practice, G. Economides & Co Ltd, based in Limassol. That same year, he also founded the Economides Accountancy Institute, where he taught elementary, intermediate, and A-Level accounting as the sole lecturer until 2012, educating thousands of students and inspiring many to become professional accountants.

Leadership Today
The firm continues as a partner-led practice under the leadership of George Economides and Elena Demetriou. Elena studied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Warwick (1997–2000) before joining Deloitte Limassol (2000–2004) as an Auditor. During this period, she completed her professional studies with ICAEW, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2003. She joined G. Economides & Co Ltd in 2004, bringing a strong technical background, international perspective, and modern approach to client service.
